What began as a seemingly all-too-common luxury car heist, quickly turned into a rough night for two hooded bandits, one darting across the car before scaling the closed gate, the second following closely behind before the homeowner then emerges. I think it's great. I think the locals, yeah, have just had enough of what's going on in our local area lately, so they'll try anything just to deter them away. Particularly in a community with no local police station. The residents here are becoming really desperate to protect their property, their cars and their homes, and in this situation, you know, I don't blame him for doing this and I would have probably done exactly the same. One of the state's top police officers seemingly impressed with the ingenuity. Most people who steal things like that are absolute cowards, so a bit of light and a bit of noise will scare them off. Proving bark can be better than bite. The homeowner clearly tried to park like a dog to scare away the offenders and it's fantastic that that occurred, but we shouldn't see these crimes occurring in the first place. The state government says it has the nation's biggest police service and it's cracking down on offenders, claiming to have introduced some of the toughest laws in the country. While barking more is effective in this instance, some community leaders are concerned if others were to attempt it, they could be putting themselves at risk.
