The Voluntary Emigration Bureau, established in early 2025, was identified as part of Israel's policy to remove Palestinians from their homeland. South African authorities are now investigating how Al Majd Europe moved these individuals from Gaza through Israel and onto a private flight to Kenya and Johannesburg, amid concerns from human rights experts who describe the operation as ethnic cleansing.

A charter plane that landed in South Africa on Thursday carrying 153 Palestinians from Gaza without proper documentation or exit stamps caught international attention and exposed a sinister operation. The Israeli daily Haaretz has revealed that Tomer Yanar Lind, an Estonian-Israeli national worked with a unit in the Israeli army charged with the forced transfer of Palestinians from Gaza to facilitate several such flights. The so-called Voluntary Emigration Bureau was set up in early 2025 to enact Israel's policy of pushing out Palestinians from their homeland. The Israeli army describes the work as facilitation. Human rights experts say it's ethnic cleansing. This is not at all a random event. This is very much part of a long colonial pattern, a very systematic dispossession of indigenous Palestinians that has been perpetuated by Zionist Israelis. And they want to get to empty the land from its indigenous people using multifaceted approaches. The front organization that sought out Palestinians willing to pay money to leave Gaza after two years of genocide is called Al Majd Europe. This is their website, which falsely claims the organization is registered in Germany. It lists an address in Sheikh Jarrah in occupied East Jerusalem. This is the area the site refers to. But there is no visible signage or identifiable office at that location. According to the Haaretz report, Tomer Yanar Lind does not deny arranging flights for Palestinians, but refuses to divulge more information. South Africa's government is investigating how this dubious organization moved Palestinians out of Gaza, through Israel, and onto a private charter plane to Kenya and then Johannesburg. The link between the South Africa-bound flight and Israel has now been revealed. After two years of mass slaughter and utter devastation, Israel has found a back channel to ethnic cleansing, paid for by Palestinians looking for safety, food and shelter that Israel has denied them at home.
