Fish markets in cities like Brisbane and Adelaide also reported high demand, with thousands of kilograms of seafood sold and crowds continuing throughout the day. Eskies at the ready, prawns sitting pretty and queues reeling around the block. Fresh seafood's the ultimate, isn't it? From the early hours, Aussies have been patiently waiting to get their hands on the ocean's finest. Doors hadn't opened to this building and there were queues outside at 4am. We come for sunrise. I think it smells a lot fishier. It's one of the busiest days of the year for fish markets across the country. Brisbane expecting around 2,000 people at the fish factory. We'll probably go through about 1,000 kilo of fillet today and about the same again in whole fish. Probably close to 1,200 to 1,500 kilos of prawns just today. While South Australians proving to be slightly more organised than the rest of us. Yesterday's the Superbowl, today's the after party. People love their seafood at Easter, it's been a wave after wave of people. So what are this year's most popular menu items? Prawns, oysters, octopus. Scallop, prawns. Chilli mussels for tonight, for everyone. Two New Zealand whole pink snapper. Barramundi. Fresh sardines. Cooked tigers and some uncooked kings. Seafood lovers continue to flow through fish markets across the country. Just like they are here at the Sydney fish market. Snagging their seasonal favourites for an array of Easter celebrations.
