Gerard Butler participated in a Mashable interview where he played a game called 'Slasher Pass,' evaluating whether he could survive various disaster scenarios from popular movies. Drawing from both his film roles and personal experiences, Butler discussed situations such as airplane emergencies, high-rise fires, tornadoes, wildfires, and more.

Butler revealed he has survived real-life disasters, including a tornado and a wildfire that destroyed his house. He expressed confidence in handling certain scenarios, like airplane trouble and wildfires, but admitted he would avoid others, such as tornadoes, tidal waves, and the extreme conditions depicted in 'Greenland 2.'

I didn't realize how many connections I have with the disaster. I didn't either! My life is a disaster. We're going to play Slasher Pass celebrating disaster movies. And specifically that means you've made disaster movies. Has that made you feel more confident that you could survive a disaster? Let's get into it! I'll present you with a disaster movie. I have some slides for reference. And I want to hear if you think you would like to slash as in you could take on that disaster or pass as in I would rather not be a part of such a scenario. Okay. Okay. So it's Slash or Pass? Yeah, you get it. That's great. So first off, airplane. Flight Trouble. Flight Trouble? Well, ha ha ha! Yes. I am well versed in Flight Trouble having made a movie with just three less letters in that plane. So I think that I would be able to pretty much get a plane out of any scenario. Oh, that's a blow-up Captain. Yeah, that's we went with a classic. So I like the idea that if a plane is in trouble, they might be like, don't worry, we have Gerard Butler on board. We're good. Well, many pilots have said, oh, are you kidding me? As a joke. Right. Or, you know, because they often come and say hello or when I'm walking on, they're standing there and I'll say to them, by the way, any trouble guys? Yeah, I got you. I got you. I think I would feel better if I got onto a flight and I was like, oh, Gerard Butler's here. We're fine. Absolutely. Next up is The Towering Inferno. So specifically a fire and a high-rise. Did you do some research here? Have you been in a fire and a high-rise? No, but I've spent the last three days hanging out with firemen in New York because my next movie I'm playing a fireman. So I, in fact, specifically have been getting schooled in fires in high-rise buildings. And what do you do? Where do you create the air? You know, you take the roof off, the windows, you know, the different jobs of them all. So I would say slush. Yeah. Wow. This is exciting. This is good to know. Like when in danger, just look for Gerard Butler. Titanic, a sinking ship. Could you survive a sinking ship? I, well, look, the Poseidon Adventure, one of maybe my favorite disaster movie of all time. That was going to be my alt. I was debating. Oh, oh, really? Was it Titanic or Poseidon Adventure? Which one do we go? Yeah. And he's my hero, Gene Hackman. And I liked his, I still don't understand, though, the argument that he had about you got to walk down and that's you really going up. I think that was, even the writers were like, it doesn't make much sense. But that feels like it was in warmer water. So I think I'd have been okay with that. Right. I think I could have slashed that Titanic up there. Water that cold. I mean, and I do ice baths, but no, that's a pass. I'll leave that to Leo. Twister, tornadoes. I've been in one of those and yeah, yeah. And Chicago just went right. We got Twister. We got tornado alert, tornado alert. And literally within four seconds, this tornado went right down the street. We were inside. So we were fine. And it wasn't one that size. But still, they scare me. Although I do have to say the tornado, you know, storm chasers, I do like what they do. I'm always like, what point would I, I watch a lot of tornado videos. So I'm often like, what point would I leave? So I wouldn't mind being close to one, but being too close, taking one on. No, that's a pass. That's valid. The Last Bus is a wildfire movie. I mean, being in one of them too, one of them burned my house down. I didn't realize how many connections I have with the disaster. My life is a disaster. Gerard, to be clear, I did not come in here expecting to just poke at your trauma. I'm going to apologize. I got through the last one. So let's say that's a, that's a slash. You have slashed this. And then we have our first Greenland. Do you think you could handle a Greenland scenario? Well I did. I'm still here. Um, and I even, not just that I get through it, I filmed it and showed it to the world. So that's a slash. I didn't realize you were so method that like you literally are just surviving disasters. I live these disasters for real. Well speaking to Geostorm, which is, uh, the disaster is a geostorm, but I also went tidal wave. That was the part of it that scared me the most. So those geostorms can get you in many different ways, you know, and I'm pretty amazing, but I don't know if I'm that amazing. Yeah. So that's a, that's a pass. That's a pass. That's valid. This is a special request from a Mashable staffer who deeply loves the happening. So I don't know if you remember the happening, but essentially trees are killing us. I don't like cutting down trees. It's a real pet peeve of mine. Okay. Um, so I'd have a major issue cutting down every tree on earth if that's what was going on. Uh, then again, if it was to save humanity, uh, no, that's going to be a pass. I think I would not do very well there. Fair enough. Lastly, Greenland 2 migration. Uh, I just put for disaster because we didn't want to give away too many spoilers. Such much disaster. You know what happens in the movie. Do you think you could make it through Greenland 2 migration? Well, I don't want to give away too much either. So this is a trickier situation. Sure. In Greenland 2. So I'm going to say that one's a pass. Fair enough. Fair enough.
