Speaking at the Russia-Africa Partnership conference in Cairo, Abdelati stated that Egypt is working to advance the second phase of the ceasefire, which includes withdrawal, disarmament, reconstruction, and the deployment of an international force.

The ministers highlighted support for the United States' efforts to implement President Trump's peace plan and urged swift action to meet all ceasefire requirements. Reports indicate that Israel has been accused of near-daily violations of the ceasefire, resulting in the deaths of over 400 Palestinians since the agreement took effect.

Speaking during a joint news conference with Lavrov on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership in Cairo, Abdelati said Egypt is continuing its efforts to push for the launch of the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza. Therefore, after the completion of the first phase, we must move to the second phase, and we hope that this will happen soon. The United States is determined to work towards implementing President Trump's peace plan, which we strongly support, and to expedite the announcement of the second phase so that all requirements can be met, including withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the issue of disarmament, reconstruction and the deployment of an international force. Israel has been accused of near-daily violations of the ceasefire. It has killed over 400 Palestinians since the deal took effect.
