We've been here only for two weeks and we just cannot understand the amount of trauma and hard work and everything. I don't think any human being can, I don't know, stay alive and tolerate what we're going through. The hospital's director, Dr. Mohamed Abusulmiya, leads by example. He spent more than seven months in Israeli prisons, but despite his detention and losing family members in recent Israeli attacks, he told us doctors can't just walk away from their patients, even in their darkest hours. Our medical crews are still fulfilling their humanitarian mission in this hospital complex, under heavy pressure. Despite this, the message continues. We serve patients and the injured to the best of our abilities. These words paint a picture of extraordinary courage.
