The embroidery, currently mounted on a rail, will be extracted vertically, placed on a large screen, and then carefully rotated to a horizontal position for packaging. Initially it would be placed in storage, since the studies required to organize its transfer to London and its display at the British Museum are not yet complete. These discussions are ongoing between the two governments, the French Ministry of Culture, its departments, and the British Museum. The loan is also highly symbolic, as the work's 58 scenes offer a window both into daily medieval life, but also a moment of shared bloody history between France and Britain.
