Their union, pushing to overhaul the industry by allowing more processing plants to increase competition and lifting restrictions on who harvesters can sell their catch to. They want to go outside the province and open up sales to companies in the Maritimes. We're not in here joking around, we just want to get this fixed once and for all and be treated like every other industry, you know, in Canada. Something happened today that have never happened before in the history of Newfoundland, the budget was cancelled. On the eve of the protest, the provincial government signaled it was open to the demands of the harvesters. Clearly, that's not enough. Now there's a court injunction, ordering protesters to allow safe access to the building. And the Premier is calling for calm to get the fishing business and the business of government back to normal. I am profoundly disappointed today that the behaviour of a few could take over and jeopardise a budget that is for the entire province. The government promises to deliver the provincial budget on Thursday. The Premier warning another protest of this nature could lead to arrests.
