A cold front is forecast to move across much of the United States during Easter weekend, bringing rain and cooler temperatures to the eastern regions. Rain and storms are expected to stretch from Dallas to Chicago on Saturday morning, shifting eastward to cities such as Houston, Detroit, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, New York City, Boston, and Washington D.C. by Sunday afternoon.

While rainfall amounts are not expected to be heavy, the precipitation may prompt some to move outdoor Easter activities to Saturday. In contrast, the central and western U.S. will experience clear skies, with temperatures ranging from the 40s and 50s in the northern plains and higher elevations to the 80s and 90s in the desert southwest.

So the weather may rain on your Easter egg hunt this weekend, as we have a cold front sweeping across much of the U.S. Let's break that timing down for you day by day here. Saturday morning, the rain and storms will be stretching from Dallas to Chicago, and there could even be some snow up north. These rain and storms, it'll shift east of the day on Saturday, stretching from Houston to Detroit by the afternoon. It'll keep going east, same thing as we said before. Rainfall will then stretch from New Orleans to Pittsburgh by Sunday morning, and it's going to continue its trek along the east through the day, reaching Atlanta, New York City, Boston, and D.C. by the afternoon. Now, rainfall here is not going to be super heavy, but it could be enough to make you move up your Easter egg hunt to Saturday. The cold front will drop temperatures across the east, but overall, these temperatures will stay at or around average. For the central and western U.S., it'll be clear. Temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s for most, except for 40s and 50s for the northern plains and higher elevations in the west. 80s and 90s for y'all in the desert southwest.
