Police say a man who drove into a crowd injured at least 30 people, including seven critically. Bystanders then physically attacked the driver, with one of them shooting him before fleeing the scene.

A vehicle drove into a crowd outside a nightclub in Los Angeles, resulting in serious injuries to at least 30 people. The incident occurred as people were waiting to enter the club, near a taco stand and valet stand. 

Authorities report that after the crash, bystanders assaulted the driver, who was later found to have a gunshot wound. The individual who shot the driver fled the scene, and police are investigating whether the act was intentional and if the shooter and driver were connected. The driver has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Also topping national headlines, several people suffered serious injuries after a driver plows their car into a crowd outside of a Los Angeles nightclub. People are still investigating, police are still investigating what led up to the incident, but as Fox's Christina Coleman tells us, there's another suspect involved. It was a very chaotic scene on arrival. A vehicle plowing into a crowd of people outside a Los Angeles nightclub early on Saturday, injuring at least 30 people. This morning at 2 a.m. our firefighters were dispatched out to a traffic accident. There was a crowd who was waiting to go into a club. There was also a taco stand and there was a valet stand, so the vehicle drove through the taco stand, valet stand and through a crowd of people. Police officers say some bystanders assaulted the driver. He was later taken to a hospital where paramedics discovered a gunshot wound. That driver was then pulled out of his vehicle, physically assaulted by the bystanders, and during that altercation somebody produced a firearm and shot the driver. Police say whoever shot the driver fled the scene. They are also investigating whether the shooter and the driver knew each other or whether the driver intentionally drove into the crowd. So we had a help of LAPD, there's about 25 LAPD officers ultimately showed up on scene. We had 124 firefighters who came here to to assist with this, what we call is a mass casualty incident. Authorities say 23 of the victims were transported to nearby hospitals and trauma centers. Seven of them were in critical condition, another six were delayed or had other serious injuries as well, and then ten were transported with minor injuries. Los Angeles police say the driver was taken into custody. Meantime, an investigation into this incident is underway. Reporting in East Hollywood, Christina Coleman, Fox 9.
