CNBC's Kate Rogers joins 'Money Movers' to discuss Domino's earnings report and the comments the company's CEO made to CNBC.

Domino's has reported mixed earnings results, with earnings per share missing estimates but revenue meeting expectations. U.S. same-store sales grew by 3.4 percent, which the company attributes in part to the introduction of its Parmesan stuffed crust pizza. CEO Russell Wiener highlighted that Domino's is experiencing growth across various income groups, a trend not seen across the broader sector. 

Wiener emphasized Domino's approach to value, focusing on discounting core items like pizza rather than secondary menu items, which he says differentiates the company from competitors. The recent integration with DoorDash is expected to further support growth by reaching higher-income and younger customers, while the Domino's app continues to attract a lower-income demographic, helping to diversify the customer base.

We're also getting a flash on another earnings mover, Domino's. Kate Rogers just spoke with the CEO. Kate. Hey, Sarah. So, Domino's reporting a mixed quarter here. EPS amidst its revenues in line, U.S. same-store sales a big focus, coming in much better than expected at up 3.4 percent. That's thanks in part to the introduction of Parmesan stuffed crust pizza. I did, as you mentioned, have a chance to speak to CEO Russell Wiener this morning. After the results, he reiterated the company is seeing growth right now across income cohorts, which will likely not be the case sector wide this quarter. On the value wars, Wiener said, quote, we want to do deals and we can sustain them. He also says Domino's is doing well with value competition because they're discounting the main thing, the pizza. It's the thing that their customer actually wants versus some fast food competitors discounting on the secondary items. Wiener saying Domino's is, quote, the best deal ever because everybody else right now is giving you a deal on something you don't want, something that may be your second choice. We're telling you, hey, large pizza, any toppings up till seven, we're not holding anything back. Being able to deliver value on the things that people value is, I think, what's unique about us. He also explained that he thinks why customers have kind of turned away from fast food or quick service names, in some cases to casual names like Chili's or Applebee's, is because that gets them closer to where they want to be in terms of meal, even if it's a bit more expensive. The company also is integrated now with DoorDash as of May, and he says he expects that to be a tailwind in the back half of the year. He told us that the aggregators are here to stay, and we decided to meet consumers where they are. Also, the aggregators do have a higher income customer that's younger. The Domino's app, Wiener says, has a bit of a lower income consumer, so that is another way for them to really diversify the business and the customer base. Guys, back over to you. That stuffed crust pizza. I think it's funny. Apparently, their ads, Kate, do acknowledge that they are not exactly early on this trend, which I said I was eating stuffed crust pizza in high school. I know. When we were much, much younger, I do remember that being a thing, but Domino's really thinks about menu innovation, I think, for the long haul. They're not just throwing things on here and there. They think about them in a cohesive way, and obviously, consumers really liked what they had to offer this quarter, guys.
