It's a big headache for the King because under the terms of the lease, Andrew would be entitled to quite a big amount of compensation. To the tune of $22.5 million for the lease of the Royal Lodge and $15 million spent in renovations. His lease entitles him residency until 2078, but experts say a payout would be a bad look for the Royal family. Who pays that? Is that the taxpayer? Is that the King? Is that the Crown Estate? It also raises questions about where he would move to. I don't think the public has the stomach for him to live in another Royal property. Only working Royals are permitted to live on Royal properties. Andrew stepped down from duties in 2019 and stopped using his Royal titles earlier this month. In St George's Chapel, his coat of arms has been removed. It's a move typically reserved for high treason. It comes after the posthumous publication of Virginia Dufresne's memoir, which revived claims of Andrew's ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Accusations he denies vehemently. He was there when those girls were being trafficked and he could be very useful to the police in America and he should be talking to them. King Charles now under increasing pressure to cut his brother loose from further privileges, including the formal removal of his titles and his residence at the Royal Lodge.
