Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office officials are investigating a homicide they believe began at a Riverview home.

Law enforcement agencies in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties are investigating a homicide that involves two distinct crime scenes. The investigation began when an individual reported a homicide at a Riverview home, stating that the body was subsequently moved and left near the Wheaton Island Preserve in Pinellas County. 

Residents of the Riverview neighborhood expressed shock, noting that such incidents are rare in their community. Police have not released details about the victim, but confirmed that a male juvenile was found alone at the Riverview residence. Authorities are urging anyone with information or evidence to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives in two counties are working to solve one homicide with two different crime scene, one in Riverview and one just off the Gandhi Bridge in Pinellas County are Blake Phillips is following this case that all unfolded last night. Neighbors waking up saturday morning to dozens of cop cars lining the streets for what we're told is a homicide investigation in this quiet, normally quiet Riverview neighborhood. I spent the day listening to some of the community members here who say they've lived here for over 20 years. It's usually pretty quiet. Something like this has never happened before. This is very shocking and surprising and you know, everybody needs to be aware of it just so they can keep their eyes open. Neighbors reacting to a shocking death in a normally quiet Riverview neighborhood. We have your typical arguments. The kids were growing up, they would argue, people sometimes get in heated discussions, never anything like this. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office saying around nine friday night, someone walked into their station in Brandon saying he saw a homicide at a home in Riverview and then the body was taken from there across the Gandhi Bridge into Pinellas County and left near the Wheaton Island Preserve. They also say that person got rid of evidence around Hillsborough County. If anybody heard anything, saw anything or if they find any pieces of evidence, please contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. And when police arrived at the home, they say one person was inside and that they were a juvenile, a male juvenile. He was old enough to be by himself. He is not. I learned from neighbors that not many know the people who live in that home, but the house is known to have some activity coming and going. That's a little bit more active of a corner and you know, people are out a lot and kind of, you know, going back and forth and whatnot. But there's been nothing quite this extreme over there, you know, cars speeding off and that type of stuff, but nothing like this. Police have not released any more information on the victim, but we will be sure to keep you updated on air and online in Riverview. I'm Blake Phillips, abc Action News.
