Now his people want to raise money for them. And yet, and yet, in a contra-constitutional way, he has sent the National Guard into California. Meanwhile, the ongoing feud between President Trump and Governor Newsom is getting uglier. The two leaders have always had a stormy relationship, to say the least. But things got really nasty during the wildfire crisis, and now it's boiling over. He's an incompetent governor. Look at the job he's doing. It's lucky for the people in Los Angeles and in California that we did what we did. He's acting recklessly. He's acting unlawfully. He's putting people's lives at risk. And it's my job to clean up Donald Trump's mess. Yesterday, the president said it would be a great thing if the border czar would arrest Governor Newsom if his administration obstructs ICE operations. Newsom fired back that the comment is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism. Come after me. Arrest me. Let's just get it over with. Tough guy. Newsom has filed a federal lawsuit over Trump's order to mobilize nearly 2,000 members of the California National Guard. The president says he has the power to call up the Guard if there is a rebellion or a danger of one against the authority of the government. Newsom says state officials can handle this situation and claims that President Trump is escalating the chaos on purpose for political reasons. Now, yesterday, Governor Newsom did announce he would have an additional 800 state and local law enforcement officers deploy to Los Angeles. Back to you.
