Week three of Holtus huddle with voice of the Chiefs Mitch Holtus weird to be in week three and still talk about a winless Kansas City Chiefs team there's an odd game against the Eagles especially just looking at the score if I'd have told you at the end of the beginning week is gonna be a three-point ball game and less than 40 points scored you probably would have taken that I would think went into that game especially if you said Jalen Hurts has nine carries for 16 yards yes and it's the lowest Eagles offensive output since 2021 yeah they had one good drive really honestly after the Kelsey interception that was that was about the only good drive they had and they had a short field on that yeah because that's a 41 yard interception return all they had with the short field on the lack of a fourth down pickup yeah the miss field goal from 59 they get it right there and then that interception return that's basically the game but still there was a lot of positives to extract from that game especially on the defensive side the effort was there you had to stay disciplined that blitzed hurt 64% of the time but yet discipline and Barkley got loose for one 13-yard run that's it but offensively it's got it offensively this week there has to be the same progress that the defense made week one to week two I was at the game in the stands on Sunday there's many many many times that I'm glad that I'm not Andy Reid the two times that I thought about it at the game with the two fourth down calls that he made coming out of the third quarter which felt like a little momentum there the Eagles got a field goal after that when they went for fourth down and didn't get it to start the second half and then to go for a fourth down before the Kelsey bobble that was the interception where it could have tied the game at 13 there talk about the aggressiveness of Andy Reid right now and going for it on fourth down well people forget we were three of three the fourth down the week one game against the Chargers and have been the Chiefs have been a good fourth down team generally yeah but they probably are rethinking hey maybe next time we'll think of something else to run weird game in week three we don't play the Giants very often obviously and they're coming off a loss but Russell Wilson looked like Russell Wilson ten years ago put them 450 yards so that was a wild game to watch and then all of a sudden it's kind of a must-win almost for Kansas City like you didn't want to look at the Giants as a well we have to have that one three weeks ago and now it feels like that's what we're looking at for this week yeah Taylor a couple things in my minute with Mitch what's really odd this is the only place the Chiefs have never won on the road against the Giants ever that's wild the Giants that's it the Giants two-story franchises and we've never beaten them there the thing with Russell Wilson though he had six passes in that game of 30 yards or more that's the best in the NFL I think in about a 12-year span yeah so they've got deep threats right and Malik neighbors is he's a stud yes and then you look at one Dale Robinson and so they've got guys that can hit you deep and you have to take account of that this is a team two on the defensive side where they spent a lot of money on the defensive front and they can rotate about five or six dudes up there but they're desperate right now too they're trying to keep his job they want to go for it ironically when they went on to the last time they won the Super Bowl because that was back in the 07 year when you meet the undefeated Patriots but there's just a lot on the table here but you're right but the Chiefs again to try to get all three phases together and the feeling this week at one or a drive has been we're close offensively we're close we're gonna get troops back here soon but even so and third downs got to be better but it's this much now make it that much another minute with Mitch here our Holt is out here with a voice the Chiefs hold Mitch Holt is getting ready for a game you can watch right here on KSHB 41 against the Giants
