The remnants of Chantal will bring plenty of tropical moisture to the mid-Atlantic leading to a flash flood threat on Monday. 2 to 5 inches of rain will be possible with the greatest risk for flooding along the Interstate 95 corridor from near Trenton down to Philadelphia, Wilmington and areas just east of Baltimore.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal are forecast to deliver substantial tropical moisture to the mid-Atlantic, resulting in a heightened risk of flash flooding. Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are possible, with the greatest threat along the Interstate 95 corridor, including areas near Trenton, Philadelphia, Wilmington, and east of Baltimore. 

In addition to the flood risk, heat advisories remain in effect for regions such as the Lehigh and Lebanon Valleys. While severe storms may not impact major cities directly, isolated storms could produce heavy rainfall due to the instability and moisture present in the atmosphere.

It's interesting, one of the things I looked at this morning was up in the Lehigh and the Lebanon Valleys where we have a dual heat advisory, okay, along with a flash flood watch. So, you know, you're watching all this heat and humidity which is already present, and then here comes the tropical system looking like it's gonna move off to the south and east. But any of these storms that develop, you know, are gonna be isolated tremendous rain producers, especially given the instability that's here. Now, what's interesting is some of the models actually have heavier rain here tomorrow than they do today with the system itself, because now we've brought all that moisture northward. Tomorrow, more of a large scale trigger that occurs as it comes down from Burlington and Buffalo. We might not have severe in Philadelphia or New York or Baltimore, but we may have some very, very heavy rain.
