It's a big night for Australia's stars of the small screen with the annual Logie Awards kicking off in Sydney. Magda Szubanski will be inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame after almost 40 years in the industry.

Television personalities gathered for the Logie Awards, undeterred by unfavorable weather conditions. The event highlighted the achievements of women in the industry, with two women from Network Ten considered strong contenders for the Gold Logie. 

Magda Szubanski was announced as the newest inductee into the Logie's Hall of Fame. She will be watching the ceremony from home while undergoing treatment for a rare form of cancer, and is expected to receive widespread support from across the country.

The weather tonight is far from frock friendly, but that hasn't deterred television's most famous faces from turning up here ready to have a good time. Celia seems to have forgotten her pants, and I want you to look after her tonight. Not a single gentleman amongst them would offer them to me, you know? You can't get higher praise than that at the Logies. It was amazing, we got a shout out from the Virgin captain on the flight here to the Logies. Our luggage is in Toowoomba, but apart from that, it was fantastic. Sandra, gold Logies tonight, some incredible women, and one token guy, Hamish, who has pretty much said he doesn't want it. What does that say about television? Well, women rule. A little late, but never too late. And I think the two ten women are probably odds on favourites. So go Poe, go Julia. Well, our two gold Logie nominees, we are so proud of you both. Thank you. We're incredibly proud too, not only representing the network, but also our great shows and everybody who works so hard on them. You know, we get to come and celebrate, and they're, you know, at home in the lounge rooms, watching us receive all the glory. Oh, I walked on, I read some words, it was on a square box in the corner, it was very draining. But yes, that person who did an 18 hour day, have a good time in your jammies. I feel like what you have in that line-up of those seven nominees is a thoroughbred version of literally any of those people would be worthy winners. While voting for the gold is still open, one winner we do already know about is Magda Zubanski, who will be inducted into the Logie's Hall of Fame. She'll be watching from home where she's continuing her treatment for a rare form of cancer, but there's no doubt she'll be feeling all of the goodwill from around the country going her way.
