The Fujairah Fine Arts Academy in the United Arab Emirates has created a unique musical experience by installing rumble strips on a half-mile stretch of highway near Fujairah, close to Dubai. When cars drive over these strips, they produce the melody of Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy.'

The project is intended to blend art with everyday life and promote cultural appreciation. The installation has already attracted visitors, some of whom have shared their experiences on social media. The academy's director emphasized the importance of learning from different cultures and incorporating beneficial aspects into local life.

Last week in Germany, more than 1,300 musicians of all ages formed the world's largest string orchestra. The composition they performed? One of the most well-known pieces of music in human history. Martin's Ode to Joy, the climax of his Ninth Symphony, performed since the 19th century in concert halls and shopping malls, appearing in movies and cartoons, sung by choruses and played on ukuleles. And now, even cars are recreating the classical composition. This half-mile stretch of rumble strips on a highway in the United Arab Emirates is designed to sound like Beethoven's classic, When Your Car Rolls Over It. It's the work of the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy. Director Alou Obeid Al-Hafeidi, I think that the project is focused on spreading the art culture, the combination of music in our lives and our normal lives. The strips are located just outside Fujairah, a small city about an hour away from Dubai. And they've already started attracting visitors, some even sharing their musical experiences on social media. So why did an Emirati school pick a European composer to represent a city in the Middle East? We are trying to tell our students to always look at different cultures and to get from them the things that benefit us.
