Despite these withdrawals, organisers state that approximately 35 countries are still expected to take part, and the European Broadcasting Union has implemented rules to protect the contest's neutrality.

Australia's broadcaster SBS, which has participated in Eurovision for a decade and supported the event for 40 years, has reaffirmed its commitment to providing impartial coverage. Calls from the Australian Greens for Australia to withdraw have been noted, but SBS maintains its involvement as Eurovision prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary.

To thank the government and the people of Australia. As Eurovision gears up to celebrate its 70th anniversary. So remind us, Eurovision was born from the ashes of the Second World War. It was designed to bring us together. And that's why its Australian broadcaster of the past 40 years, SBS, is still backing the contest.
