Newly released body-worn camera footage is shedding new light on Shane Tamura, the 27-year-old gunman who shot and killed four people in New York City last Monday. Jhovani Carrillo walks us through some of the things we've learned.

Newly released body camera footage and 911 calls have revealed additional information about Shane Tomorrow, the suspect in the New York City shooting. The footage shows Tomorrow's previous encounters with law enforcement, including an incident at Red Rock Casino where he was trespassed after refusing to show identification and attempting to collect casino winnings. 

Further details from the footage and calls indicate that Tomorrow had a history of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and reported brain trauma. Police records show that his mother had called for wellness checks after he threatened self-harm, and officers had recommended a mental health hold. During a recent search of his home, police recovered a rifle, a note, and prescription medication.
