The bill has gained significant momentum within Congress and is set to progress to the Senate. Should it successfully pass through the Senate, the President has expressed intent to sign it into law. This development indicates a strong political will to address the perceived issues associated with TikTok's linkage to ByteDance and, by extension, to China.

But TikTok fired back, saying in part, the government is attempting to strip 170 million Americans of the constitutional right to free expression. The platform also prompted some users to contact their representatives about the potential ban. We had little children calling into our office and others basically saying questions like, what is Congress? What is a congressman? Can I have my TikTok back? Friday in DC, some TikTok users were already very well aware of government attempts to rein in the app. That's just like me, like walking around the hallway in front of that committee room. You've made a TikTok about lawmakers being concerned about TikTok. As far as whether they'd support the legislation. It's kind of like a difficult question because I actually do understand some of the national security concerns. I don't want to because I like TikTok, but I understand why they're doing it. What would you think if you couldn't use TikTok anymore? I'd probably be sad, but I feel like they would just find another way to post the same content. The full House is expected to vote on this legislation sometime next week. Today, President Biden told reporters that if it gets to his desk, he'll sign it.
