The final day of the 2025 Zagreb Grand Prix featured high-level judo competition and enthusiastic support from fans in Arena Zagreb. Ivailo Ivanov secured his fifth Grand Prix gold in the under-90kg category, while Elisaveta Litvinenko and Nikolaj Sirazlidisvili each celebrated significant career victories in their respective divisions.

The event also saw Marie Branca make history as the first athlete from Guinea to reach a Grand Prix final, and Croatian judoka Helena Vukovic earned a bronze, contributing to the host nation's three-medal tally. The tournament concluded with praise for the organization and the vibrant atmosphere provided by the Zagreb crowd.

The third and final day of the 2025 Zagreb Grand Prix promised to deliver more exhilarating action inside the Arena Zagreb. A great crowd amassed to watch some of the highest quality judo on offer, and they were not disappointed. After a close contest in the under-90kg final, it was Ivailo Ivanov, who bested former world champion Luka Maiseradze with a well-timed Tomo Anagi in golden score, securing a fifth Grand Prix gold medal of his career. IJF Medical Commission Chair Dr Antonio Castro was on hand to award the medals. The under-78kg category saw Marie Branca become the first athlete from Guinea to reach a Grand Prix final. There, she faced Elisaveta Litvinenko, who proved a step too far for Branca. A great Tanio Toshifa Ippon clinched the gold. A first Grand Prix title for Litvinenko. She was awarded her medal by Mr Armin Bagdazarov, IJF Head Referee Director. At under 100kg, Nikolaj Sirazlidisvili had looked impressive all day. In the final, a fast-dropping technique that scored Yuko was enough to earn him the gold. The final was a close one, was enough to earn him the gold. A first Grand Prix title for six years. He was awarded his medal by IJF EC member Mrs Luisa Aguias-Galea. It's nice, nice feeling, nice people. Everyone wants to take picture and happy, nice people. At plus 78kg, it was an all-French affair, but it was Celia Cancan who shone brightest, outworking compatriot Leonie Minkada-Kakino to top the podium. After a moment with some fans, her medal was awarded by three-time world champion Ms Yuri Alvear. I do in Zagreb the World Championship KD, so I already know the arena. So it's cool. It's a really good place, and the public is extraordinary. Kanan Nasibov expertly countered Yuri's spikers at plus 100kg to take the final gold medal of the tournament in style. He was awarded the gold by Mr Neil Adams, world champion and two-time Olympic silver medallist. Once again, the Zagreb judo fans were delighted by their home fighters, as the local athletes put their best foot forward. Their great display of judo culminated in Helena Vukovic taking a bronze medal, making it three medals in total across the weekend for the Croatian team. Croatia has once again delivered on the IJF World Tour. This latest edition of the Grand Prix was amazing. Thank you, Zagreb.
