Australians cast their referendum vote in London

I'm 17,000 kilometres from Canberra in Australia House in the heart of London. This is going to be the biggest polling booth of the voice referendum with around 13,000 Australians expected to come here to cast their ballot over the next 10 days. Now this is the first of three sections in this polling process, they're expecting so many people to come that they've had to split it up. Now they'll arrive and they'll be greeted in this room with their first set of forms which they'll complete before heading through to the next section which I'll show you now. This is the second room, now it's far more regal than your regular voting station and some of you may even recognise it from the Harry Potter films, now this was Gringotts Bank. Voters will come through here, they'll select their state that they're registered in in Australia before heading through to collect their voting ballots. Now already we've got people lining up to cast their ballot here, the voting will take place over the next 10 days and the final day will be on Friday, October 13th. I have a flight to catch this afternoon so I needed to be first in line. I'm in London only for a few days and I need to cast my vote and I'm very much in favour of the referendum, of the proposal, so yeah. You might get a lot of people here saying yes, you might get a lot of people saying no, but I'm voting no. Get here early, first in line, there's no sausage sizzle there. Where's the democracy sausage? This is the third and final section, voters will have completed their ballots which they'll submit here before heading off back to their lives in London.
