Northern California is bracing for significant rainfall as an atmospheric river moves through the region. Forecasts indicate that cities such as San Francisco and Sacramento could receive three to five inches of rain, surpassing the typical precipitation for December.

Flood watches are in effect from Sacramento down to Bakersfield, and high elevations may see snow. The Bay Area is expected to experience persistent rain, and travelers at San Francisco International Airport should anticipate delays.

Right now, the big spin on things is what's happening in Northern California, which may eventually happen to Central and Southern California, too, Kelly. Yeah, we've got a lot of moisture coming in. San Francisco, rain pretty much every day this week. And eventually, Southern Cal gets into it by the end of the week, and that rain adds up. Look at the orange and red. That's several inches, if not a foot of rain. Yeah, no shortage of moisture. Some of it in high elevation, obviously, is going to be snow. But Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, I mean, the numbers are kind of bleary. This is what we get in a month of December, and there's the forecast on the right column. Three to five inches, so more than a month's worth for places like Sacramento, where you're in a flood watch through Friday, all the way down to Bakersfield. No doubt. And when the spigot is turned on, it's going to be an absolute rush. You've got it from the Bay Area. Some of it a bit more to the north, but the Bay Area looks like a constant, no doubt. Be prepared for that. If you're traveling to SFO, look for delays there for sure. Very true. Good point. Man, patient.
