A stabbing and car ramming attack in the West Bank resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man and injuries to three others, including a woman, a man, and a boy. Israeli authorities described the incident as a terror attack, stating that two attackers were killed by Israeli soldiers and explosive materials were found in their vehicle.

The attack took place near Israeli settlements south of Jerusalem, amid heightened tensions and increased violence in the region. The incident coincided with the U.N. Security Council's approval of a U.S.-drafted resolution on Gaza, which saw mixed reactions from international and regional actors.

We've got some breaking news out of the Middle East, a stabbing and a car ramming attack in the West Bank has killed at least one person. For more on this, I'm joined by CBS News foreign correspondent, Rami Nissencio. So Rami, what's the latest on the attack? Vlad, hi. Yes, this is being described as a terror attack by Israeli authorities. And according to initial reports that we're seeing, it involves a 30-year-old man who died of a stab wound, along with three others who were injured. One was a woman, another a man, and one was a boy. Israel's military says that there were two attackers involved, and that both of those people were killed by Israeli soldiers. They also said that they found explosive materials in the vehicle of those attackers, and that those were being neutralized by bomb disposal specialists. So this implies that at least the intent may have been for something even bigger than this stabbing and this ramming. And this incident happened south of Jerusalem. This is at a busy traffic junction there, at the entrance to basically a cluster of Israeli settlements that, under a U.N. definition—reminder—considers as illegal. And this also is happening, as we're seeing in the West Bank, a surge of violence by Israeli settlers on Palestinians. This is during the seasonal olive harvest there. So far, as we know it, there's no immediate claim of responsibility. All right. This all comes, Rami, as the U.N. Security Council approved the U.S. draft resolution for Gaza. What more can you tell us about that, and what's the reaction been? Sure. Well, this has been a happy breakthrough for most, but not all parties, rather. The Security Council let it pass. It wasn't a unanimous vote, but in a mix of 13 votes for, along with two abstentions. In terms of permanent Security Council members, the U.K. and France went along with the United States. The U.S. and China, as they often do, they abstained in part because the resolution didn't support Palestinian statehood even further, or the language perhaps was too vague or too biased towards one state. But President Trump, we saw on Truth Social, he took a victory lap. He celebrated. You know, he was the champion for this. He said, this will go down as one of the biggest approvals in the history of the United Nations. Mike Waltz, the U.S.'s ambassador to the U.N., also stepped up and said thanks, really, to Muslim nations and Arab nations for their support, too. And that was very crucial, this formation, this organization of about 20 countries that had to come together for this. Looking ahead, the question now is, where do we go? One, the establishment of an international stabilization force. The U.S. says that there are countries that have said that they're going to offer officers to contribute forces there, but those are not yet named. We don't know who those are. Another is a big one, the goal of the total demilitarization of the Strip. That is an enormous task there. The third is the establishment of a board of peace. And President Trump has talked about himself being the chair of that. It's supposed to serve as this kind of bridge between the Hamas-led governance and some kind of reformed Palestinian Authority. So, a lot of steps moving ahead, but not everyone is happy. Israeli far-right ministers are not happy. And also, Hamas says that it doesn't go far enough. All right.
