Another Boeing whistleblower raises new safety concerns

There are Boeing's top-selling wide-body jets. The 777 and 787 Dreamliner. Manufacturing processes now subject to a new investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration. I am hopeful that the FAA will not allow this to go unanswered. Over allegations from engineer Sam Salipur who says he saw 777s with defects and that changes in manufacturing of 787s could leave fuselages with improperly closed gaps. I literally saw people jumping on the pieces of the airplane to get them to align. You don't see that in Boeing's corporate videos. Boeing denies Salipur's claims. Along with these allegations from his lawyer. He was threatened with physical violence. He was threatened with termination. Salipur worked in the same South Carolina plant as another whistleblower, John Barnett who also raised concerns about the 787. He was found dead in his truck in March. An apparent suicide. Boeing meanwhile is reeling publicly from recent mid-flight scares. Including a cowling falling off an engine earlier this week. And that 737 Max 9 losing a door plug in January. Investigations have slowed production as Boeing pledges change its CEO is leaving. It's probably going to take a long time for them to get out of this. This aviation analyst says Boeing, the world's biggest plane maker is under great pressure. The focus back on to quality is going to be something that's drummed into them by their shareholders if nobody else. Air Canada flies the 787 and 777. WestJet, the 787. Both say they've had no serious issues. Salipur meanwhile will testify in Washington next week. I'm doing this not because I want Boeing to fail. But because I want it to succeed. And prevent the crashes from happening. Although there is an investigation, neither of the planes have been grounded. Boeing insisting it always works with regulators.
