Durul, who was already on bail for other charges, decided not to apply for bail during her court appearance, and no reason was provided for this decision.

The alleged victim, a sushi chef, suffered a punctured lung and required several days of hospitalisation, with doctors estimating a lengthy recovery period. Police had been seeking Durul prior to the incident due to a missed mandatory mental health appointment. Durul appeared via video link in court, where she reportedly displayed unusual behaviour. She will remain in custody until her next scheduled court appearance.

The sushi chef was walking to work when she was allegedly attacked, suffering a punctured lung and spending multiple days in hospital. Doctors have said it will take her quite some months to recover. Police had been trying to locate Durul in the days leading up to the attack. She had missed a mandatory mental health appointment. She appeared via video link in court today and displayed some at times bizarre behaviour, smiling and laughing. Ursula, she will remain in prison until her court appearance next month.
