The alleged perpetrator, Joel Fitzgerald, had known the family for five years and was arrested, facing two counts of murder.

Court proceedings revealed that Fitzgerald did not apply for bail and is currently withdrawing from illicit drugs. The victims' family expressed relief that the legal process has begun, though they acknowledged nothing can bring back their loved ones. Fitzgerald remains in custody and is scheduled to reappear in court in April.

Arrested yesterday, he faces two counts of murder, 54-year-old Kyle Senior, a father of four, and Kyle Junior, a father-to-be, but he didn't know it. His partner, Shanice Ciali, discovered she was pregnant two weeks after his death. We have a miracle baby, because Shanice, Kyle left Shanice with a beautiful baby boy, Kyle III. Her son and husband had a history in the criminal justice system, but started a new life in Melbourne. Kyle Junior, a passionate footballer, fisherman and Indigenous dancer, who was making plans to propose. They would have just drove off in a dream time and lived a beautiful life. Accused killer Joel Fitzgerald did not apply for bail. The court heard he's currently withdrawing from illicit drugs, GHB and meth. The family of Kyle Junior and Kyle Senior say while nothing can bring their loved ones back, they'll sleep better tonight knowing the court process has finally begun.
