One person is dead and two others are injured following a car fire on W. Hampton in Milwaukee.

Authorities in Milwaukee responded to a car fire near 19th and Hampton, resulting in one confirmed fatality and two people transported to the hospital. Among those injured was a Milwaukee Police Department officer, though the extent of injuries has not been disclosed. 

The scene extended across several blocks, with emergency services and crime scene tape present. Witnesses reported seeing flames and heavy smoke, and described the incident as frightening. The cause of the fire and further details about those involved have not yet been released.

We begin with breaking news happening near 19th and Hampton, a car crash and fire. One confirmed death. One injured police officer Megan Lee is live on the scene trying to make sense of all of this for us, Megan. Yes, Steve. It's a pretty big scene out here. We're currently at 20th in Hampton, but officers are focused on a vehicle at 19th in Hampton, which is just a block behind me. And this scene stretches all the way to Green Bay Avenue. There's officers everywhere. A lot of crime scene tape. We're literally at the edge of the scene right now and we have confirmed that one person is dead. I spoke to the M. E. S. Office. They said that they were responding to the scene and we are hearing two people were transported and one of those people transported was an officer who was transported by the Milwaukee Fire Department. We are unsure of what those injuries are. As you can see in this video flames, there were flames. A car was under a lot of flames. We spoke with neighbors who said they saw the smoke fill the air. They saw the car on fire and I also saw a video of M. P. D. Officers trying to get that fire out. This all happened I think around eight p.m. This evening. We got here shortly after that, but we are focusing on a car that seems to be completely burnt. I've been speaking with the neighbors in the area who tell me it was a very, very scary site as we were walking over here, it blew up and burst in the flames. Was it like anything you've ever seen before? I've seen it before. I lived on 48th and Center. I've seen it before a site you don't want to see anymore. No, this scene is not wrapping up anytime soon. I mean, officers are all the way to Green Bay Avenue. So just blocks and blocks away from where we are at 20 in Hampton right now. Again, we know one person is confirmed dead and two people were transported to the hospital. One of those people transported was an M. P. D. Officers. We're officer. We're unsure of their condition.
