A Romanian construction worker, Octei Struici, died after being rescued from the collapse of a medieval tower in central Rome. Firefighters conducted a 12-hour rescue operation, during which Struici was conscious and received medical attention before being transported to the hospital.

Despite efforts by doctors to resuscitate him for over an hour, Struici did not survive. Three other workers were injured in the incident, one critically, and authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse, noting that the tower's stability had been verified prior to the restoration work.
