U.S. Customs has confirmed that tariff collections under President Donald Trump's administration have surpassed $200 billion for 2025. These tariffs, initiated through over 40 executive orders since January 2025, have affected global trade flows and led to a decrease in imports, particularly from China.

The financial impact has been especially severe for small and medium-sized businesses, many of which have resorted to high-interest loans to cover tariff costs. While larger companies can access more favorable financing, smaller firms face prolonged debt and uncertainty about their future viability.
