Olivia has remained the most popular name for girls born in 2024, marking its sixth consecutive year at the top. For boys, Liam continued its eight-year run as the most chosen name by new parents. These names have shown sustained appeal over multiple years.

Among the fastest-rising names, Truce experienced the most significant increase for boys, moving from rank 12,109 to 991. For girls, the name Laney—or Alani, as it is alternatively pronounced—rose 754 places to number 101. These changes indicate emerging trends among American parents choosing less traditional names.

The name Maurice currently ranks 930th among boys' names, with its highest position recorded in 1914 when it reached 94th place. John, previously the most popular boys’ name for decades, was ranked 21st last year. John's streak as the top boys' name ended in 1923, around the time John Calvin Coolidge was president of the United States.
