A man believed to be the gunman was later found dead with a firearm nearby, and police have lifted the shelter in place order for the area.

The incident began when firefighters responded to a reported brush fire and came under sniper fire. Sheriff's deputies who arrived at the scene also faced gunfire. In addition to the fatalities, a third firefighter was taken to hospital, and an unknown number of civilians were present in the area. The brush fire continues to burn as authorities focus on the aftermath of the attack.
