Among the voters, Pat Levin, a 95-year-old lifelong Democrat, expressed concern over Trump's potential impact on democratic norms and history, mentioning fears about his constitutional approach and nominees. Levin voiced apprehension about mass deportations, women's rights, and the future well-being of those she cares for. 

Marvin Boyer, another resident and community activist, shared surprise at the extent of Trump's win but noted factors such as the economy and racism might have played a role. Boyer emphasized the importance of activism over complaint, encouraging those dissatisfied to engage in local organizations. Daryl Ann Murphy, identifying as part of the "Quiet Resistance," likened the situation to a crumbling foundation, expressing fears about the country's future.

Catherine Long and Pam Aida, residents engaged in the conversation, reflected different perspectives on Trump's leadership. While Long expressed worries over Trump's cabinet choices and potential reluctance to leave office, Aida focused on personal and national security, advocating for patience until the next election cycle. Although uncertainties loom, the group finds occasional solace in shared activities like the Chinese tile game mahjong, offering moments of levity amid political tensions.
