U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reported a 400% increase in threats against its agents, according to Deputy Director Madison Sheahan. This comes as ICE intensifies its enforcement efforts, notably through Operation Patriot, which has led to the arrest of approximately 1,500 individuals in Massachusetts, about half of whom have significant criminal convictions.

Sheahan attributed the release of individuals with criminal convictions to local sanctuary policies and emphasized that ICE's mission is to prioritize public safety. The agency has also seen a rise in protests during operations, particularly following recent raids in San Diego. Despite increased risks and public demonstrations, Sheahan stated that recruitment for ICE is growing and that the agency continues to focus on removing individuals with serious criminal backgrounds.
