Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Rob and Michelle Reiner, has been charged by Los Angeles County authorities with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances. Prosecutors allege the murders were premeditated, involved multiple victims, and were committed with a deadly weapon, specifically a knife. 

Police report the attack occurred in the master bedroom of the Reiner home, possibly while the victims were asleep. Nick Reiner was arrested without incident at a park 15 miles from the family residence. He is being held without bail and could face life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty, pending the district attorney's decision.
