Recent airstrikes have killed several reporters, including a prominent Al Jazeera correspondent, drawing condemnation from rights groups and media organizations. 

Israel maintains that it does not deliberately target journalists, alleging that some of those killed were affiliated with militant groups. Meanwhile, media organizations and advocacy groups continue to call for greater protection for journalists in Gaza, as the conflict has also led to widespread hunger and displacement among the local population.
