A new report from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) highlights a concerning trend in the rise of antisemitism in the United States. The report indicates that in the past year, there were over 9,000 incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment, and vandalism - marking an all-time high in recorded cases. This marks the fourth consecutive year of increases, according to ADL's CEO and National Director, Jonathan Greenblatt, who attributes this rise to what he calls the "normalization of antisemitism" in an increasingly polarized environment.

Greenblatt points out that antisemitism emanates from diverse ideological corners, including the far right, the radical left, and religious extremism, seeping into mainstream discourse. Conspiracy theories, unfounded claims, and accusations against the Jewish community and the state of Israel have contributed to this unsettling trend, as misinformation spreads through various media platforms.

The ADL's focus also extends to addressing antisemitism on college campuses, which account for a significant portion of the incidents. More than 2,000 cases were reported on campuses last year. Greenblatt expresses support for the administration's efforts to tackle antisemitism on college campuses but emphasizes the importance of balancing this mission with constitutional rights like due process. He insists on addressing the issue in a manner that protects not only Jewish students but also respects broader civil liberties.
