Meteorologists are forecasting multiple rounds of thunderstorms across the central and southern regions of the United States in the coming week. These storms could bring severe weather and flooding, particularly from the Midwest to the Tennessee Valley, as repeated downpours are expected. Meanwhile, the western US is likely to experience hot and dry conditions due to a high-pressure system, raising concerns about fire risks, especially in areas prone to dry thunderstorms.

The tropical Atlantic is expected to remain relatively quiet, with water temperatures below historical averages and significant Saharan dust limiting storm development. While some localized activity may occur off the southeast coast, the broader tropics are not expected to see significant development in the near term.
