The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have completed their operation at Gaza's al-Shifa Hospital and withdrawn their troops from the area. The operation, which began on March 18, was based on Israeli intelligence that indicated Hamas was using the hospital as a base for attacks. During the two-week raid, the IDF reported capturing over 900 suspects and killing 200 Palestinian gunmen, including senior commanders from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The World Health Organization stated that 21 patients died in the hospital during the operation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the next phase of military action will focus on Rafah. The IDF also reported the death of Staff Sergeant Nadav Cohen in southern Gaza, bringing the total number of Israeli military fatalities since the start of the ground invasion to 256.
