Lima, Peru, hosted its first-ever judo Grand Prix at the Coliseo Eduardo Dibos, marking a significant moment for the sport in the region. The event featured strong performances from Latin American athletes, including Chile's Mary D. Vargasle, who secured her country's first Grand Prix gold in the under-48 kilogram category. Brazilian judokas Jessica Pereira and Gabriela Conceicao faced off in an all-Brazilian final, with Pereira taking gold in the under-52 kilogram division. 

Other highlights included Isaac Ashpiz's victory in the under-60 kilogram category and a dramatic win by Valerio Acogle in the under-66 kilogram class. The home crowd celebrated as Brilith Gamara made history by earning the first IJF World Tour medal for Peruvian women. The event was marked by displays of respect and sportsmanship, reflecting the growing prominence of judo in Latin America.

Fue una final totalmente brasileña en la categoría de menos de 52 kilos, con Jessica Pereira enfrentándose a su compañera de equipo Gabriela Conceicao. Un yuko de Pereira le valió el oro, y una bonita muestra de respeto por parte de sus compañeras. La medalla le fue entregada por la presidenta de la Federación Peruana de Judo Sra. Maria Martinez-Murciego. En la categoría de menos de 66 kilogramos, Valerio Acogle fue llevado al límite en un combate que duró más de dos horas. cinco minutos en la puntuación de oro, pero una contra muy bien sincronizada de Acogle le dio la puntuación y el oro.
