Dr. Brahmbhatt noted that while prostate cancer is common, the specific form diagnosed in Biden, where the cancer has already metastasized to the bones, is relatively rare and occurs in about five to seven percent of cases. Treatment for this advanced stage of prostate cancer is highly individualized, taking into account the patient’s age and other medical conditions.

The most common initial treatment is androgen deprivation therapy, which reduces testosterone levels to slow the cancer's progression. Additional options may include chemotherapy, medications to support bone health, and targeted therapies. Dr. Brahmbhatt emphasized that not every patient can tolerate all treatments due to possible side effects and other existing health issues, making a personalized treatment plan essential.
