Ike Winter, an artist from Milwaukee, has been commissioned by the NFL to create a unique installation for the 2025 NFL Draft. His task involved crafting the logos of all 32 NFL teams from discarded furniture found on the streets. Over 600 hours were dedicated to this endeavor, as Winter used natural materials like wood, avoiding the use of paint or stain, to preserve their original appearance as he shaped them into logos. This project aligns with the draft's theme, "Built by Community," highlighting the use of local resources in his artwork.

Winter, whose grandfather Ray Kuffel was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 1944, feels a personal connection and pride in this project. While Winter has previously worked with notable figures such as Mike Tyson, he describes this project as the most significant and fulfilling of his career. His approach to art, which involves repurposing what others discard, serves as a testament to creativity and resourcefulness, transforming what was once seen as waste into meaningful art.

The installation not only serves as a visual centerpiece for the NFL Draft but also as a homage to personal and community legacies, demonstrating how art can interlace history and present ambitions through innovative techniques and sustainable practices.
