This is the last tracked position of the Galaxy leader. The cargo ship was sailing through the Red Sea, a crucial maritime shipping route, when it was reportedly seized by Houthi rebels. They say they hijacked the ship over its connection with Israel and took its crew hostage. We urge all countries whose nationals operate in the Red Sea to refrain from any work or activity with Israeli ships or ships owned by Israelis. Israel insists the Galaxy leader is British-owned and Japanese-operated, but public shipping databases link the ship's owners to Raykar Carriers, a group founded by Abraham Ungar, who's one of the richest men in Israel. Yemen's Houthis are part of a broader regional alliance, which includes Lebanon's Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias in Iraq that are hostile to Israel and the US. They've already launched several missile and drone attacks on Israel. On November 7th, they claimed to have temporarily halted activity at Israeli military bases after launching a fresh drone attack. That came a week after another attack on October 31st, which the rebels say targeted southern Israel.

The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon is warning the escalation in hostilities along the Israeli border could widen. The Israeli army has carried out multiple air strikes on frontline villages in some of the fiercest bombardment yet. The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah is also stepping up attacks against Israeli military outposts.
