Workday earnings exceed expectations

NY Grande, a singer technology analyst for Bloomberg intelligence to join us to give us some more context here. And when I asked you earlier, which of these results really stood out to you, you said, work today by a long shot. What's going on there? Why were they able to beat estimates surprised? Because of the company's, you know, you don't really look at the results are reported results. But what kind of back like they have are what kind of bookings that they had in the quadrant they 24-month backlog. Actually stopped 21%. That is a pretty big number. I think going back, they had guided to about 19th. Street was right around 19 as well. So 21% in this environment is pretty impressive, which means over the next two years, you could expect Revenue growth somewhere in that terrain. This is impressive. Can you extrapolate from that to some of its peers? Are they also in the same boat or not? We have seen all sorts of mixed bag in the casein and we'll find out tomorrow in Salesforce report this to what they have to say, you going almost every two weeks by two week at this point to every time in the new set of companies report, you know, it Kind of sets the tone for the next month or so. So I think this is a good sign. Enterprise spending seems to be holding up more for the software guys, then perhaps, on the hardware side, which is something that we see during recessions is people pull back on large ticket items such as a hardware equipment and sometimes do, you know, invest more in South Bay, software affected by the strong dollar and expectations that perhaps the dollar strength will start to way next year, International companies. And they generate a lot from next year, we are expecting growth rates to slow down. I think it's petitions are already baked in it to certain extent. We have to see how much more will they come down. But one of the big things that we look forward which which I just said was the subscription backlog of the other bookings numbers for these companies. I think that slows down over the next few months and then recovers in the second half of next year when compared to Make it easier, which means they're setting up for a very strong 24 along with margin expansion. What is this industry end up looking like I'm in Emagine field four for the course is probably one of the more acquisitive companies into space but I am destroy it without getting too deep into speculation. Are there m&a opportunities that you see your particulars as to your company's we saw 60 70 80 companies going to go public really. Big ones by market cap size and they're all packed to 70 80%. We aren't seeing companies release coming up and buying and I think if they really need to, you know, compete with the private Equity Funds right now. They need to buy more about the business model. Can you sort of be kind of that single product or single? Servicer that that I think some of these companies still are, or do you have to have more of that, the first of there's a iPad model, I have a client relationships, can go sell other high-quality products to them and some cases that its energy into something. So there doesn't have to be, but it is dictated by sales and marketing expense. So if you already have a good client base, any product works, you can go and buy and sell more stock in, it would be as conference calls we expect to listen that, you know, when they don't find Base today, they were able to sell more products and that really helps when you're not able to get really large deal, you just have to go back to your base and sell them or thinks. One of these Executives could say that would make you question, the business model going forward. I think a lot has to do with guidance, and in some cases, the bookings gives me an indication, which is why the Sox only at 3%, but if they come back and say, you know, we expect another solid quarter of bookings going into next quarter. I think that could help this talk a little bit more as well.
