Private payrolls rose by 113,000 in October as US companies added fewer jobs than expected for the month, according to figures published Wednesday by the ADP Research Institute. Michael McKee has the details on Bloomberg Television.

We do have an ADP report and it is a bit weaker than people had perhaps anticipated, 113,000 jobs created in the month of October according to the ADP folks. The forecast on that was for 150,000 but remember ADP called for 89,000 last month and we ended up getting over 300,000 so take it for what it's worth. Now what ADP is saying is that the goods producing sector produced 6,000 jobs, manufacturing up by 3,000. They had gone through a string where manufacturing was losing jobs, construction 4,000, service providing jobs up 107,000, leisure and hospitality is 17,000, education and health services 45,000. They always kind of lead the way there and then in terms of establishments, it looks like medium-sized businesses, 78,000 additional jobs is the leader there. Pay insights, they now have this pay component, overall those who stayed in their jobs saw raises of 5.7% and those who changed jobs, 8.4%. So still strong numbers in terms of wages, fits with the ECI number that we got in terms of explanations but is it going to matter? Probably as I say, not.
