Ukrainian forces have launched what Russia describes as a 'mad attempt' to retake Snake Island, the iconic Black Sea outpost seized by Russia in the opening days of the war. The outpost became a symbol of Ukrainian resistance after a radio exchange went viral at the start of the war , in which Ukrainian soldiers used and expletive in response to Russian demands they surrender.
