The Apache Junction Police Department is looking into what caused a car to crash into a block wall early Saturday morning. The two people inside the car died.

Authorities in Apache Junction report that a fatal crash occurred when a pickup truck struck a block wall in a residential area near Idaho Road and 16th Avenue. The collision resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman.

The section of U.S. 60 affected by the crash has since reopened. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Apache Junction Police Department.
