Two years ago, Bragg charged a bodega clerk with murder for defending himself during an attack, a case the Trump campaign has highlighted to address public safety concerns.

However, the Trump campaign believes it can gain support from Black and Latino voters. Just last month, Trump made a campaign stop in Harlem. He used a bodega as a backdrop to slam Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for what he calls soft on crimes that matter. Two years ago, Bragg charged a bodega clerk with murder and sent him to Rikers after he killed a man who attacked him behind the counter. The Trump campaign seizing on that national headline to highlight public safety. In the Bronx Democratic Party, they will be holding their own protest and more so a rally to protest Trump's appearance. They say Trump isn't welcome here in the Bronx.
