Good evening, I'm John Dickerson. I'm Maurice DuBois. We begin with the political fallout from Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene's interview last night with 60 Minutes. The Georgia Republican, once one of the President's most diehard defenders, spoke about her high profile falling out with the President over, among other things, her demands for the release of the so-called Epstein files pertaining to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The feud led Greene to announce that she is leaving Congress next month. Today, the President lashed out at her with a long post on his social media site, calling her a traitor and more. Nancy Cordes leads us off from the White House with this escalating war of words tonight. It wasn't a decision that I came to lightly. With just four weeks to go before she steps down, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene told 60 Minutes she is leaving for her own safety. After President Trump called me a traitor, I got a pipe bomb threat on my house, and then I got several direct death threats on my son. On your son? On my son. You say the President put your life in danger. You blame him. You say he fueled a hotbed of threats against me, and that you blame him for the threats against your son. The subject line for the direct death threats on my son was his words, Marjorie Traitor Greene. Marjorie Traitor Greene. For years, Greene was one of President Trump's staunchest allies, until, she says, he turned against her over the Epstein files. He was extremely angry at me that I had signed the discharge petition to release the files. I fully believe that those women deserve everything they're asking. They're asking for all of it to come out. They deserve it. And he was furious with me. What did he say? He said that it was going to hurt people. Trump responded to the interview this morning, likening Greene to a jilted lover and a rotten apple, and claiming her ideas are now really bad. I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you're doing. No, I ain't nothing. Hold on. Hold on. Listen. Order. Greene came to Congress in 2021 and made waves early with her combative style. To her parents, I say. And her embrace of right-wing conspiracies. You belong in prison, Dr. Fauci. Fauci recently apologized for taking part in what she called toxic politics. On 60 Minutes, she said that when she told Trump his attacks were prompting death threats, his response was, quote, extremely unkind. I don't think her life is in danger. I don't think, frankly, I don't think anybody cares about her. In his post this morning, Trump once again called Greene a traitor, despite the threats that term has prompted in the past.
